Karl Rove bashes McCain and Obama

Today almost all American have at least heard of Karl Rove. He is the genius behind getting George W. Bush elected multiple times all the way from governor to President. His name was brought out again when the CIA leak investigation was under way, as he had worked inside the White House for some years. Well he is now speaking out against the economic policies of both candidates for President. As I agree with Rove in this article, my question to him is why couldn’t he have persuaded his own candidate and our President George W. Bush to pass more free market oriented policies?

Well here are a few parts I liked from the article at The Wall Street Journal:

(This on Obama.)

“Instead ask this: Why should we stop with oil companies? They make about 8.3 cents in gross profit per dollar of sales. Why doesn’t Mr. Obama slap a windfall profits tax on sectors of the economy that have fatter margins? Electronics make 14.5 cents per dollar and computer equipment makers take in 13.7 cents per dollar, according to the Census Bureau. Microsoft’s margin is 27.5 cents per dollar of sales. Call out Mr. Obama’s Windfall Profits Police!”

(This on McCain.)

“(In criticism of oil companies not investing in other fuel sources)And do we really want the government deciding how profits should be invested? If so, should Microsoft be forced to invest in Linux-based software or McDonald’s in weight-loss research?”

The rest of the article can be found here.
